Top 5 Navigation and Maps Apps in Romania: Q4 2021 Performance

During the fourth quarter of 2021, the top five navigation and maps applications in Romania showcased varying performance trends in terms of downloads, active users, and revenue. This data, provided by Sensor Tower, offers a comprehensive look at the market dynamics.

Waze Navigation & Live Traffic experienced a fluctuating download pattern, starting with 17.3K downloads in late September and closing the year at around 21.5K. Active users showed a similar trend, beginning at 1.1M and peaking at approximately 1.13M in late December.

For Google Maps Go, weekly downloads saw a gradual increase from 7.4K to around 10.9K by the end of December. The active user base remained relatively stable, maintaining figures between 618K and 632K throughout the quarter.

GPS, Maps, Voice Navigation showed a modest increase in revenue, peaking at $14 per week in mid-October and mid-December. Downloads fluctuated, with a notable increase towards the end of December, reaching nearly 7K. Active users followed a similar pattern, rising from around 11K to 15.8K by the year's end.

Google Earth saw a steady download rate, starting at 5.4K and ending at approximately 4.9K weekly. Active users remained stable, hovering around the 35K to 37K mark throughout the quarter.

Lastly, GPS+ Maps, Navigation, Traffic displayed a slight decline in revenue, from $10 to $4 weekly. Downloads began at 3.9K and decreased to around 2.1K by the end of December. The active user count also saw a decline, starting at 5.6K and ending the quarter at 3.5K.
